recurrence???

Hi;  I noticed from reading these forums that most recurrence happens when they discover node involvement.  I did also learn from my Oncologist that you have less odds of a recurrence when there is no nodes involved.  I am just wondering how often if happens when someone is node negative?

I wonder why the difference from what other on-line information says ??  I have looked at studies that give a much lower number of recurrence.  I wonder if it is because they link all stages of early bc into one clump.

There's another one at "cancer math". It doesn't lump everyone together. You enter the exacts on size, grade, er, pr, her 2, etc..Just google cancer math and the link will come up. Someone posted a link to it on another thread here and I found it to be very helpful. What I saw there was more in line with what the onco said...but who knows. I think in the end, it's a crap shoot. Having a low % chance of recurrence is great, as long as you're not in the small % that does recur. When I had my biopsy, the Dr told me to go home, don't worry, there's an 85% chance it's nothing and she really felt it was ok...needless to say it wasn't ok. Once you've been on the wrong side of the statistics, they're not as comforting anymore.
