Anyone know of any websites to purchase nice wigs? I had one 5 1`/2 years ago, and it was from Germany but forgot the name.  The place where I got it, now wants $600,  Thanks in advance.

i ended up with 7 wigs because i decided to have some fun.  most of them were long, very long wigs.

i bought all of mine at a wig sop that was in business for bc patients and those w/ alopecia.  the owner had over 500 wigs in stock along w/ hats scarves, etc.

i decided to buy the synthetic hair wigs because the feel like real hair, look like real hair and you can get almost any style for $50 to $120,    all you have to do is gently wash them w/ special  shampoo and hang them to dry.  they maintain  the style no matter how many times you wash them.  let them dry gently brush them and you are good to go.

most of the wigs i bought can be seen at wigs.com

Janice, I had a similar experience to you. I asked my beautican, and she recommended me to a salon that specialized in wigs/scarves/hats etc. for people with hair loss (the owner is a BC survivor herself, so she knows what she is talking about from the inside out). I got several very nice synthetic wigs, because they hold up better and are easier to care for than human hair (just don't open the oven while wearing one!). A more expensive wig I bought was one I could swim in, and sleep in (on a satin pillow as befitted its price!).....but I had several reunions, and camping things I wanted to do that summer, so it was worth paying more to me. I would highly recommend the "Look Good, Feel Better' program, whether you want to get a wig through them or not. It is a wonderful couple of hours; they give you many tips about how to wear the wigs, scarves etc. and several hundred dollars worth of high quality name brand makeup, which they show you how to apply to your best advantage. It was fun (which is the only time you will find the words 'fun' and 'cancer' in the same sentence). Best if Luck! Ruth

I was shocked to learn what some wigs cost, especially human hair ones.   Some of them are over $1,000.00.    You can find a beautiful synthetic one for under $100.00.
