    Hi Ladies

I was 21 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer stage IIb and 22 when I became stageIV with bone and liver mets.

I see a lot of you were diagnosed with earlier stage breast cancer that is now stage IV - why? did it not respond to treatments?

Hi, this thread looks very old, I decided to join because I still know very little about breast cancer.

I am 36, have been diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer, mets bones left hip, right shoulder, right knee and left arm lymph. My femur head ball broke and that was the discovery.

I have already started radiation on my broken hip and right shoulder only, I have just a few sessions left, but that's as far as my treatment course has gone. I am still in early diagnostic stages for treatment planning, I just had a biopsy of the 4cm tumor in left breast, no results yet. I don't know how long it generally takes to get a plan for treatmen but this seems like it's taking a long time. I'm impatient, my diagnosis only came less than a month ago. Onc. Says they won't do surgery. I'm a little shocked at this, but he said it's because it's already spread and won't make any difference? Get that tumor out of me!

I like the info on this site for getting a second opinion.

Are any of the women who posted last on this topic still alive?

    - with love, Dani
