Im 25 years old and in Jan of this year I was given the result that I had inherited the BRCA2 genetic mutation, from my Dad. My Father has 6 sisters, 5 out of six develpoed breast cancer in their late 30's/early 40's. 2 lost their battle with cancer and 3 survived and are still alive now. Unfortunely growing up I was not very close to my Dad's side of the family, so most of the information I've got is from my Dad. I am very close to my Mam'sside of the family, and they are great but don't really understand it all.

This year I've had my first MRI scan and mammogram, which I will continue to get twice a year from now on. From reading what other women have written, I realise I am lucky so far. But still I still sometimes feel down, wondering why me and what if. I have no sisters and feel that I have no one to talk to,that really knows what I am goin through.

If anyone out there has any advice for me or can share similar experiences with me, I would be very greatful.

Thank you x
