So.... it's October.... and all the pink is wiggin' me out a bit!!  It's everywhere you look... football, golf, commercials; everywhere!!  I am doing the Komen walk in a couple of weeks, I am just having trouble with all this pink support everywhere while I am actively going through treatment!!  Anyone else having trouble with the in-your-face reminders this month???

    Leanna9~

As my mastectomy was last October it really bothers me to see pink everywhere I go.  I am hoping this feeling will diminish after some years have gone by?  Hubby says this is a great way to keep me out of the stores...Undecided

    Hugs to you-

AGREED!! My mx was also last October (Hi ANG!); and its like someone is doing this jsut for me!! YUCK! I posted n my facebook page to make sure that when you are donating to a breast cancer pink charity to be aware of how much of the money goes towards the cause. Many people thought their entire donation did!!

If it takes a little pink to raise awareness though, and another sister is saved the hell of my past year...then paint me pink!! :D

Yes, I used to just hate it as October was diagnosed month...then as time went by (10 years for initial, 3 for new diag) I just don't notice it.

I do think perhaps it's gone overboard but then I figure, hey, hey, they mean well, and it's money for research; so whatever.

Don't let it get to you, just roll your eyes and walk on.

    xoxo

I really can't explain why the pink month bothers me, but it does.  However, the other day a client came in with his mom and asked how I was, etc - then turned and explained to his mom that I had just finished active treatment in April.  She asked why I wasn't wearing a pin or bracelet.  I told her the truth, it makes me uncomfortable. She then told me that she lost a sister to BC.  I got home that evening and thought that if I can help raise awareness by wearing a pin, then maybe I need to get over this weird feeling I have and wear the pin, ring or bracelet, which I've done for the last two days.  All of the pink still bothers me, but I'm trying to think of it as helping someone else in the future.  So......I volunteered to work a Susan Komen, Think Pink event on Friday (our office are the sole sponsors) and have and will wear my BC "stuff" to help raise awareness.
