Daily paper under the arm as pain prevention

Six years after the operation my breast cancer started spreading, in the chest area. One of the symptoms: sharp pains whenever I was sweaty and exposed to a little breeze. As I am living in Tel-Aviv that means: suffering pains many long months, deep shooting pains in the chest, and, most unpleasant, also in the armpit.

My first impulse was dressing warmer, but that is pretty unbearable in this climate.

The doctor didn't know what to do about it other han advising pain killers . (Meanwhile she did succeed to stabilize the cancer - through hormone blockers.) After  a whole summer being overdressed, avoiding ventilators in spite of feeling hot, I  really didn't look forward to another summer.

In the very beginning of this summer, however, I discovered by chance a ridiculously simple solution:  I always have with me a newspaper. And when I feel the vague beginning of pain I put it under my arm, holding it over the scar area. It keeps the place under it dry - and warm, and the rest of my body can be exposed to the refreshing breeze. This summer I didn't suffer at all.

Maybe, this can help others too.
