Possible swollen lymph node in neck

Options

Should I be concerned?  A couple of days ago I noticed a very small lump/bump approx an inch behind my ear on the boney part behind my lower ear.  I had my husband feel it and he can't feel anything.  At first I did not think it was a lymph node because it is on top of the bone but I was reading up on location of lymph nodes and I do think it could be a lymph node.  However, if it is a lymph node my husband said it is no way the size of a pea, which is the size they say lymph nodes get when they are swollen.  It is not painful and is tender not hard but does feel different from the other side.   I am 5 years out from a stage II diagnosis.   I know that my oncollogist always feels my lymph nodes in the neck when I go in for a check up but this area is a little higher on the bone behind the lower part of my ear.  Should I go in to see my doctor?

i usually follow the 2-3 week rule....if something is swollen or painful..i try to give it some time to resolve...if not...then i call the oncologist.  we really can't know what it is without furter testing OR a doc exam.  i think you should do what would help you not worry so much ...and feel better*

I have swollen lymph nodes ALL the time on this exact area. Nodes in the ear area are most always from drainage, cold, or allergies.

I just had 2 that lasted 6 weeks, If I had not had them before I would have flipped out but I do get them often. Drink a lot of water flush out your sinuses and don't worry even if you google lymph nodes in ear area most always they say it is some benign cause.

Of course if it does not go away check it out, but don't worry too much.

Thanks so much for your responses, I feel a lot better now.  I do have sinus/allergy issues but have never noticed swollen lymph nodes but then probably never searched for every little lump/bump on my body before either.  I will keep an eye on it and drink plenty of fluids.
