Hi all,

I just turned 40, and they have it right:  being slammed into menopause overnight is rough.  I would love start a discussion here on tips.  We all know we need to eat well, and get enough exercise.  I'm doing that already, am pretty careful to keep calorie intake at 1400 - 1800 a day, and every day I get some form of exercise, whether it's a wallk, a brisk treadmill and weights, or a pilates CD, for instance.

I have relaxed a little bit about the five I put on during chemo.  However, I'm just at the beginning, and want to try and stave this off any way I can.  According to all my doctors, my life literally depends on it as an ER+ survivor.

My first tip:  make sure your thyroid and glucose are being monitored if you did chemo. I just wrote my oncologist asking what my thyroid function looks like now.
