Hello People,

I finally convinced my oncologist to see me again, Even if its just for reassurance. I posted that I was having trouble getting anyone, including my surgeon, to follow up on me.  I may just be paranoid, but now feel better about seeing the oncologist.  Thanks for all of your advice on getting in to seeing a doc for a follow up and telling me to push hard for a visit.

That's great news!  I know that it was making you nervous to not have the follow-up, so I'm really glad that you've convinced the oncologist to see you again.  The next good news will be when you see the oncologist and he tells you that everything looks terrific!  Wink

I have my first follow up booked for November. I've had a BMX so I'm just curious . . . what will the surgeon be doing at this follow up appointment? Examination? Tests? Mammogram? My exchange surgery will be three weeks before this appointment. Will this alter what she does given I will not have healed by then?

You are in the same boat I am in.  I had a bmx and this visit is a mystery to me.  I have no idea what the oncologist will say or do.  I have a feeling he will reasure me that everything is ok, but I do not know if he will order any tests just to shut me up :-) .

Agada, my appointment is with my surgeon. I only saw the oncologist once and since I didn't require treatment, that was my first and last visit. Can I just ask you a question? Your signature says you had 2 positive nodes but that you are DCIS. Is that an error or was your cancer DCIS as well as having some invasive?
