I am writing to get some advice/opinions because I am so confused for my dear friend who has been diagnosed with IBC.

This is her 3rd round with BC, the first two were stage 0, one was the right breast, the other was the left. She has already had her right breast removed because the cells crystalized and docs thought it was for the best.  Now this is her left breast again and she needs radical treatment, chemo and then masectomy to the left. Her last bout was 6 yrs ago, and now this.

So here is my big concern, when she had BC the 1st two times her ONC never put her on Arimedex or Tamoxafin, or any of them, both times nothing. He never even did blood marker tests during her visits, just mammo's as scheduled like nothing ever happened. Does anyone think it would have made a difference 6 years ago had her ONC put her on one of the therapy drugs? My opinion is that she should have had the BRACA test too because her sister died of BC and they know that as well. I am so distraught for her. She goes for all her follow up tests soon to see if it has spread. God bless and thank you.

There are tons of more knowledgeable women on this site than me but the first question is what is her hormone diagnosis. If she is triple negative maybe chemo is all there is. He would only put her on hormonals if she is normone positive and herceptin if she is HER2 positive.
