Wednesday Weigh In
Comments
-
I am keeping track of my calories using the PC version of FitDay. I need to keep myself accountable. Anyone else using Fitday software?
-
Omaz I am not so good on the calorie counting software. I think for me just writing down what I eat would be enough of a wakeup call. I keep avoiding doing that too.
Welcome to the new ladies. I am pretty new myself and really haven't lost apound yet. But, if I can be accountable to you ladies and the daily exercise ladies maybe I won't become a blimp by New Years.
-
Well not so good on the weigh in. I missed posting two weeks ago and for this week I am .2 pounds higher then I started. Obviously, I need to do better especially with holidays and all the goodies coming.
-
Omaz and JFV, you can also check out loseit.com where you enter the food you eat. The website counts the calories for you and you can see at a glance how much more you can eat (or in my case, how much you've gone over). It gives you more calories also when you log in your daily exercise. It is truly a motivator.
I have an ankle injury so hopefully I can limit caloric intake for this weeks weigh-in.
-
Loseit.com also has a smartphone app so now there's no excuse to not track your food intake, even when you're on the go!
My favorite part of the smartphone app is a barcode scanner. If you're eating packaged food that has a barcode on the package, you can scan the barcode, and it automatically reads the calorie count. Just put in your serving size and it will input those calories to your daily record. It also has item by item calorie counts for most chain restaurants to help you order a bit more smartly when you eat out. So no more fudging that calorie count on the Outback Bloomin' Onion (It's a vegetable, right?? So it's gotta be low in calories, right???
)!
-
Patoo: Sorry to hear about your injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery. BTW - I use to drive myself crazy weighing every day, the fluctuations were mind boggling. Finally said forget it and only get on the scale on Wed now (and pray I'm not constipated or bloated on that particular day!) I do try to have a couple good days right before weigh day and consciously lower my salt intake a day or two before, meaning no pickles or Fritos . . . such the sacrifice :-)
Natsfan: ha! Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor. Saw you were out hiking with Mikey! That must feel good. Hope you're up and about and off restrictions soon.
Sunflowers and MaryJRN:
Welcome!
Omaz: I use loseit.com too (I think it's similar to fitday) It's easy and does help keep me accountable. If I want to splurge I can plan my exercise accordingly or there are days I just watch myself go in the red, but at least it helps explain the results on the scale. Keeps me aware and I second Natsfan . . . love the phone app bar code feature.
With all that said, I'm so nervous about the scale tomorrow! Egads, my week was full of out of town visitors and for me that meant lots of eating and drinking (one day I didn't even try to post my calories!) I'm bracing myself and as you can see, already formulating my excuse!
-
Ok, tomorrow is another weigh in at WW.......................hope its a good one, but I'm not feeling very confident this week.......................oh well.............it is what it is.............................
-
Welcome to all the new 'losers'!!! This is the one place you want to be called a loser, and I for one this week can say that I am!! I am down 1.1 pounds this week and must find a way to keep at it!! Next week is my Mamm and MRI and I am sure that you all know that the scanxiety has begun already..... I must remain focused on weight loss!!! Hope everyone else has had a good week!!
-
No change for me but more info - using fitday I ate about 2100 cals/day. Didn't lose so for the next week going to drop it to 1800 and see if that works.
-
Good job, Mary Louise. I am also down a pound. I had my yearly physical with the GP on Monday, which that forced me to be good over the weekend, as their scales always run 'high' anyway. Now if I can continue the trend without a checkup staring me in the face.....that would be a good thing!
-
Down .7 - note the decimal point. I'm still on the %$#% surgical restrictions till mid-December, so I'm thinking any loss under those conditions is good.
-
My first BC.O weigh in shows a 1 pound loss. I'm happy with that. My goal is in 5 pound increments.
-
Wow, everyone did so great! Which makes it all the more embarrassing to report that I gained 4 lbs!??!? ha! omg, I knew it was going to be bad, but I didn't think it would be THAT bad. I'm guessing a couple lbs is faux weight that I can get rid of pretty quickly once I start eating right, but I'm sure I put a good 2 lbs back on my bod. Oh well, looking on the bright side, this is a good jolt to get me back on track. We still have visitors staying with us but I think I'm going to start making them eat kale and drink juju berry tea :-) Here's to a good week ahead.
-
My Wednesday weigh in is good news again...............went to WW this morning and I'm down another 1 1/2 lbs..........for a total of 10lbs............I have been going for 7 weeks.........I know this isn't going to continue at that rate of loss, but I will enjoy it while I can......................still have to lose a small toddler, so that is why I'm not getting too excited.
-
duckyb - Big Congrats on the 10 pounds - Whoo Hoo!!!!
-
Ducky that's great! I did WW about 10 years ago (for the umpteenth time) but for some reason it just clicked that time and once I started losing I steadily lost 1-2 lbs per week. Ended up losing about 65 lbs over the course of 8 months. (I believe that would technically be an elementary school child :-) I've managed to keep most of it off although chemo set me back about 20. Anyway, you may be surprised. Keep up with whatever you're doing, it's clicking!!
-
Hey Ladies! I've been lurking for a bit, and just got caught up reading all the posts, and would love to join you all!
Weight has been an issue for me since before I was a teenager (I'll be 50 in March), and 10 years ago I hit my all time high of 200 pounds at the not so statuesque height of 5' 1". Started to lose, and this morning I weighed in at 140. I was an odd one that I did NOT gain during chemo, and was on Tamoxifen for a couple of months and switched to Arimidex, and the strangest side effect I've had from them is NO appetite. First time in my LIFE.
I also DO need to join the exercise team, but am feeling the need to be pampered since I had an ooph/hyst a week ago Monday.
You ladies are awesome!
Purrs,
Jenn
-
Awesome job,Jenn. Come on over and exercise as soon as you are ready. We will reserve a spot for you!
-
Congrats to all the losers this week. Hello to the new ladies. So glad to check in here and see how everyone is doing. Nats and Patoo I hope you both heal fast. Happy to say I am not up any weight. Might have lost a couple of ounces. Unfortunately my blue jeans don't believe me. So 169 and holding.
-
What a difference a day makes . . . lost 3 lbs overnight! I did a re-weigh today. I know, I know, I don't usually do that, but I don't usually gain 4 lbs in a week either!?! I had a good day of eating and got a little exercise in yesterday, also my LE was flaring up and I got that under control. (Isn't it amazing what bad behavior and poor choices can do to a body ;-) I felt so much better today. BTW: I did serve kale & spinach for dinner. My guests loved it (even saw one taking a 3rd helping!) I have to admit I did add bacon to it though :-)
Welcome Jenn! You have a great story. I agree, you need to take care of yourself for now, you can ease into exercise when you're ready.
Best to all . . .
-
How do you make the kale and spinach?
-
Hi Omaz: I heat up some olive oil, saute a little garlic in it and add bacon bits (this time I cheated and used the 100% real bacon bits packaged by Costco). Then I rough chop a bunch of kale and spinach and add that, turning it with tongs to mix things together. I let it cook until everything wilts. Add little salt and pepper and thats it.
-
Hi, I have been reading along and decided to join in and enroll in the lose it site. I love it. Thank you for all the good info on this site. I am on Arimidex - going into my 5th year in January. Over these 4 years I have gained more then 12 pounds and of course am on a constant diet and only lose a pound or two. I have found that drinking alot of water helps me with fluid retention.
I am eating regular meals but watching and making better choices - I go to Aerobics classes 3 times a week. I will post next wednesday my loss or gain. Hope everyone has a good week and Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!
-
Hi everyone. Welcome Desny.
I missed Wednesday this week, really accidentally on purpose as I've been having issues related to acupuncture. Yes the ankle got better but then problems with right thigh after acupuncture and now have an issue with my left instep with pain going from there up into the big toe. Gout? Neuropathy? Don't know but it's kept me from exercising all week. Have annual physical on Monday and hopefully will get back on track after my company leaves next Saturday.
Ibuprofen to the rescue. Night friends.
-
Hi Patoo: I was wondering where you were. Sorry to hear about all you're going through. I hope the ibuprofen does the trick. There are days when ibuprophen is my best friend.
Welcome Desny!
I look forward to checking in with everyone on Wednesday.
-
Thank you for welcoming me to this group. I did my usual housework before I went to Areobics class today. I'm retired but still I never find time to sit down. Busy days
Wishing everyone a good week and Happy Thanksgiving. I'm still going to weigh in, before I make the apple pie and cream puffs!
-
May I introduce myself. I am Kimberly. I need to lose 100 pounds. I lost 6 pounds last week PFC so considreing percenttage body weight, not that impressive....I just had to post this loss because it will probably not be this high again...but I would like to join your group.
-
Welcome Kimerberly and Desny! I am pretty new here too.
-
Hi Kimberly, Welcome and great to see you over here. Between this group and Posting My Daily Exercise it sure keeps me in check. Congrats on the weight loss!! (Oh boy, let's not get into percentages :-)
Lost 1.5 lbs this week! Not sure how that happened, but I'll take it.
Happy Thanksgiving to all celebrating tomorrow. I wish I could be an inspiration and tell you all how I'm going to tweak my recipes to make them low cal or only take a 1/2 piece of pie, but my plan is to count my blessings, not my calories . . . and then pay the consequences :-/ At least I have a plan, right?
Til next week . . ,
-
Hi ladies ! Feel better Pattoo ! Quiche, keep up the good work. Welcom Kimberley and Desny.
I post my weight on here because I can't seem to remember it from week to week. Do I blame it on chemo brain or needing to forget the depressing news ? Probably both. Anyhow just barely below 170 which means I have gained some weight. I doubt the next few days will help. Hoping to squeeze short bouts of exercise whenever I can. MD Anderson sight has an article on how much exercise you need to burn off parts of a Thanksgiving dinner. Yikes ! But, I feel that this is the season to enjoy your food. Blessings to all !
