A little backround info. Diagnosed with stage2 DCIS in Aug 2009. Under went lumpectomy and had 2 cancerous nodes removed. Had second surgery to make sure margins were clear and had port inserted.  Had 4 rounds of chemo ending in Jan 2010. Had 36 rad treatments ending March 2010. Started tamoxifen April 2010. Everything was healing and going pretty well until June 2010. I started having having severe pain and redness in affected breast. Doc says I have radiation mastitsis. Said  it sometimes happens several months after rads end. Said to take Advil twice a day and hope it goes away. Anyone have this problem??

Yes,I have post radiation   mastitis just after finished rads.It is along with chest wall mild lymphedema.I have good lymphedema therapist who helped me a lot.Mastitis is in fact fluid called SEROMA,wich is collect in the breast.I still have seroma and my dr.told me that it will absorb on its oven thru the time,in a year or some more...I finished rads at the end of the august.Hope it helps.
