MiaLambrado,
I'm sorry your having some issues with your onco. I go to Dr. Rigden at the Northland Oncology and Hemotology. I've really like her!

I saw Dr Sharma at KU for a 2nd opinion and was impressed by her knowledge. Don't know how the office works, though.

Melisa,
I have gotten my diagnosis, surgery, and treatment at the University of Kansas Cancer Center. I have been so pleased with all the entire medical team. My oncologist is Dr. Omar Khan who I really like both professionally and personally. I find him to really listen and be very caring.
Good luck with your search. Having an oncologist that you respect and trust is so important.

Hi Melisa,
I live in Harrisonville and will be seeing Dr. Monaghan at the Kansas City Cancer Center on Holmes. I haven't met him yet (oct. 18th), but he is treating a friend's cousin (male breast cancer) and he loves him. My surgeon is Dr. Amie Jew at Menorah and my Plastic Surgeon is Dr. John Quinn in OP. So far, I have been very happy with everyone. I have an old neighbor when I lived in KC on the Independence border (moved 8 months ago). She went to Dr. Larry Rosen at Kansas City Cancer Center in Lee's Summit and was very happy with him. Not sure if any of this has helped, but know there are plenty of good Dr.s in KC- don't settle. I hear KU is very good too!!

I also see Dr. Monaghan at the KC Cancer Center. I got a second opinion from Dr. Khan at KU and was not really impressed, plus the wait time was ridiculous. I did my rads at the KC Cancer Center in Lee's Summit with Dr. Komar - my hubby and I both really liked and trusted him. I have heard that Dr. Rosen is very, very good. Unfortunately, I couldn't get an initial consultation with him as soon as I needed or I would have been with him.
I am learning to like Monaghan. He has called me at home a couple times and provides his cell phone number to his patients. And he answers it when you call him (I tested that out). I didn't think he was hearing me when I told him I was diabetic and concerned about chemo side effects, but the message seems to have been received. I am not doing chemo but I did agree to taking Femara, even though I am just barely ER+. And oh, he himself was diagnosed with cancer within the last year, so he knows what it's like to be the patient.
My breast surgeon is Dr. Christa Balanoff - she is in practice with Dr. Jew. She is also fabulous and I think anyone would be pleased with either doctor. And again, the office staff and nurses are very good.
Mia - the KCCC Lee's Summit office is right off 291 and Woods Chappell Road.

Michelle, thanks for the info-makes me more confident in my decision, I will be doing chemo , but will not have to have rads! I thought about going to Lee's Summit, but with all my other docs in the 119th and Nall area-I thought Holmes was a better choice! I was told my ER score was 3-so technically negative. What was your score?
