Femara the cause of my uterine cramping and spotting?

Options

I have been on Femara since February of this year. Since then I have had periodic blood tinged vaginal discharge and cramping. I had an ultrasound exam that showed uterine thickening, so I had a biopsy. It came back negative for cancer. Smile  My onc thinks it is a side effect of the Femara and nothing to be concerned about. I decided to have a D&C to get rid of the extra tissue. After the procedure the doc said I had a moderate amount of endometrial buildup and the beginning of a polyp. Recovery from the D&C was easy. About 2 weeks later I started with the blood tinged discharge and the periodic cramping began again.

Has anybody else experience uterine thickening/bloody discharge/cramping while on Femara? What did you do about it? I don't know whether to just live with it, get a hysterectomy, or what. I would appreciate feedback.

I am somewhat in the same situation.  Took Femara for several months and then was switched to aromasin and then to tamoxifin due to unending headaches as a SE.  In july started spotting after 10 years of no periods.  First thing the Ob says is have you taken tamoxifin.  We did uterine biospy and found  thickened lining and polyps .  They said they could be removed with a D &C but could not guarantee they would not be back.  On Oct 11 I am having a hysterectomy along with ovaries and cervix removed.  No more possibility of cancer any of those places.  OB says 70% chance they can do it laparscopically with means overnight in hospital and 2 weeks off work.  3 nights if full incision and 6 weeks before going back to work.  For me this was a no brainer  all these are possible places for cancer to return.  I don't need them any more.  For right now I am not on any of the AI's and I am not sure I will go back to them.  After I heal up from this surgery I need to have knee replacements done.  I should have done them in the last 2 years, but with chemo, rads and herceptin for a year it just was not possible.  Now they hurt so bad I just want to get them done but this surgery needed to come first.  This was my choice and I am happy with it.  I beats wondering if every little pain is something you should be worried about.. Hope you get the answers you are looking for and are comfortable with the decision you make.  Annette
