My mum was diagnosed with grade 2 IDC in July.  She has had a lumpectomy with SNB which said it had random cancer cells in it but they have said her status is negative and no other nodes removed.??? They were unable to clear the margins so she went for a second re-excision and her path report says that residual DCIS has reached the margins and there is evidence of lymphovascular invasion. Her original plan from her BS was that she would need radiotherapy and Tamoxifen but will this now mean that she will need mastectomy with chemo? I'm scared it might have spread.
