My Mom Recenly Diagnosed

10 Days ago I never would have thought I would be writing on this wall or researching Breast Cancer period.  My mom is a regular fo her Well Woman exam and this year was no different.  She goes in... but this year she is asked back to do an ultra sound on her left breast.  Still... no worries, no where in our family history has anyone been diagnosed with breast cancer.  After the ultra sound... a biopsy--- WHAT????  Totally freaked me out.  What to do? What to say?  On Friday, September 10, 2010 @ 2:29 PM I got the results of her biopsy... results that would change my life completely;  my mom called to tell me that the spot they saw is indeed cancer.  Fear. Rage. Concern... all thoughts that immediately flood my mind.    My mom is my best friend, we are extremely close.   She's 68 and the thought of her having breast cancer made me physically ill.  I'm the youngest of five children... and the last time my mom was sick or in a hospital was when she was having me.  All we know so far is that they caught it early (it wasn't there last year).  It's only been a day and I don't know the journey that lies before us.... this is what scares me most.

Oh Hun I know how you feel; it's like a lightning bolt of shock!! How's your mom doing? Mom got her diagnosis in June and it came out of nowhere. Its so terrifying- my mom is my best friend too. I'm sorry you guys are going through this but my thoughts are with you and your mom!
