Can this year get any worse?

Just found out that my cousin has had a recurrence- officially triple negative, stage IV.  She was initially diagnosed stage I almost three years ago and completed surgery, chemo, and radiation with a wonderful attitude.  She has a wonderful, loving husband and a beautiful little boy. 

When I was diagnosed in February she was my biggest cheerleader.  

My high school friend who was diagnosed with oral cancer in May 2009 had a very sudden recurrence in March, just after I started chemo, and passed away in May.  Never smoked or used tobacco a day in his life.

I hate cancer.

I'm so sorry about your friend and cousin. I hate cancer, too. There is nothing fair about it.

It was a rough night but I feel bad about being such a downer.  On a more positive note, I'm doing great.  My cousin still has a really upbeat attitude- she's ready for round two, even though she's totally bummed out about having a port again!  Not to mention chemo- .  But she's so strong- if anyone can do it, she can!! 

Thanks for letting me wallow a bit, and for propping me up as sisters do.  Love and hugs to you both!
