Does anyone know what is meant by warmth of breast, do they mean warmer than the other breast or warmer than your body temperature?  I am so worried and confused and appreciate any help.

It feels slightly warmer around the areola.  It is has not gotten any bigger though.  Is it under the breast where you need to feel for warmth?

Bonnie - what were your symptoms?  I have a small dime sized red mark on my areola and the areola is slightly warmer than the other.  The dr. told me that I just have inflammation right now and it doesnt look like cancer, however I dont think I'm comfortable with that.  thanks.

I live in Canada, Ontario.  I am going back to the doctor on Monday and am going to insist on tests.  The appointment I had today was with the dermatologist.  I do like my doctor and think he may help me out if I let him know hoe concerned I am.  How are you doing now?

I am 37years old and my left breast does feel warmer than my right but there is no swelling or redness or swollen lymph nodes. As a matter of fact my right is still bigger than my left. My nipple does feel itchy at times. Did go to my doctor and he asked whether there was swelling whether my nipple was crusted and he did a breast ultrasound. He said it was fibrocystic disease and not IBC. I live here in the Caribbean and we are not on the cutting edge of medical science. Should I just let it go or take a wait and see attitude?

If he'll do it, might as well. To rule out IBC, just to be on the safe side. Good Luck.

Based on the findings of the MRI the doctor felt that a biopsy was not needed. The MRI showed both breast had a mixed fatty and dense background. The pre contrast showed no mass and no evidence of any inflammatory process. On the post contrast images the only abnormality was a 7mm mass that has features of a fibroadenoma. I was suppose to do the biopsy on Wednesday he actually sent me home to think about it.   Nevertheless I said to the doctor "my breast is swollen and there is a mass there so lets see what that is" The biopsy was done the next day.  He did a core biopsy and on my insistence took a piece of skin.  I get my biopsy results next week .

    Lalbuatsaiha

None of the people who posted on this Thread from 6+ yrs ago have even been back to BCO in years.

This Forum - Inflammatory Breast Cancer - is for those with a DX of IBC. IBC is rare and unique/different than the other, more common types of BC (DCIS, IDC, ILC).

Unless you Mom has a DX (diagnosis) of IBC then it would be good for her (or you) to start a Thread in the 'Not Diagnosed", "Just Diagnosed" or her type Forums.

Only a Dr, after tests can say if she has any type of breast cancer so if haven't seen a Dr yet that is the first step.
