Bone Scan

Options

I am about 2 and 1/2 years out--stage 3 trip. neg.  I have been having pain in my upper arm not elbow or shoulder and my thigh bones for several months.  I mentioned this to the onc and he sadi that even tho it would be highly unusual to have mets to these areas we could do a bone scan.  Am I being too paranoid?  I am not one to really worry..Any thoughts?

I just had a bone scan, it was clear. I don't regret having it. I don't think we can be to paranoid. My liver enzymes were messed up. The onco kept saying we'll wait another month and re test, if they havn't came down we'll do a bone scan and liver ct to check for mets. He said that once a month for 3 months. I finally said lets just do the scans so I don't have to keep worrying, piece of mind is priceless. The liver ct was good to, it turns out it's the arimidex...but I feel so much better knowing that. Having breast cancer changes the way we think, we'll always have in the back of our mind that if it ever comes back it's stage 4. We have to be proactive. Do what you feel you need to for piece of mind. Life's to short spend it worrying!

Thanks for your reply--it's tough not to worry sometime.  Thanks!
