Hi, Adey ~ I don't know why no one's responded to your post yet, but I've read several reports by women on BCO who have been treated there and raved about it.  If I can remember who they were, I'll PM you.  Have you read Keith Block's newest book, Life Over Cancer?   OMG, it's the best ever!!!   Deanna

Thanks!  And please do pm me.  I just bought the book and I had consultations at Block yesterday and today.  Gotta go but thanks again and back later!  A

I have heard amazing things about him and his center.  I read up on him a great deal and thought about treatment there.

I found that the hospital I'm going to also offers holistic balance during chemotherapy, and is open about my using supplements and such to bolster my system.  I've been quite happy, I go to The Raby Institute for the holistic side of things.

The thing that still makes me wary of the entire integrative approach is there is serious concern that anti-oxidants may support the growth of cancer.  I think we are a little ways off before we can definitively say that the whole integrative approach during cancer is the right road.

Block Center also offers other supports, like physical/psychological, and that is profound.  I have sought those out and found them at my hospital, but am always disappointed that one even has to ask for what should be absolutely standard during this treatment.

Thanks MHP for the input.  I'm deciding between Rush and Block right now.  I do believe I looked at Raby too, although my mind is mush now.  (c:

I am currently going through chemo at the block center.  Unbelievable!!! It is sooo wonderful.  I totally recommend it.  The only side effect I have encountered after my 3rd tch session is the loss of taste for about 5 days.  They truely care about you as a whole person.  I attend cooking classed while receiving my treatments.  If you go monday thru thursdays you can also attend yoga class while receiving chemo.
