Can anyone give me some comments of Dr. Francis Wright
I will be refered to Dr. Francis Wright at Sunny Brook Hospital for second opinion because my case is really complicate. Have anyone be her patient? I also want my doctor to refer me to Dr. Mccready David at PMH, but I worried he might be too busy to focus on me.
Any review? Or any nice doctors at Sunny Brook H?
THANK YOU

Rose, I can't comment on Dr. Wright but I did have Dr. McCready for my surgery and I would highly recommend him. I was referred to him by another doctor and like you, I specifically asked for the referral to Dr. McCready. If Dr. McCready has a full patient load, then he won't accept you as a patient - and I assume in that case he would refer you to another surgeon at PMH. But if he accepts you as a patient, then he will have time for you. There is no harm is asking for the referral to see if you get in. Dr. McCready does drop off patients regularly (I saw him only for 2 years after my surgery) so that he can add new patients.

Hi Beesie:
Did you still remember how long for the booking time? one month, two months or longer? Thankyou

Rose, if I recall with Dr. McCready I was booked for an appointment within 3 weeks of my doctor sending in the referral. During that time they did a complete relook of my films and had the PMH lab redo the pathology from my biopsy; based on what they saw from my mammo, they sent me for more tests and another biopsy. Also, once the appointment was booked, I talked to Dr. McCready's office to get a referral to a plastic surgeon, since I suspected that I would need to have a mastectomy and I wanted immediate reconstruction. I actually got in to see the PS before my appointment with Dr. McCready. So I used the 3 weeks well and they really didn't set me back by much.
All these doctors are very heavily booked but they usually leave appointment slots open for new cases. It's all a question of the urgency of the situation. It's the same thing with surgery - for a non-urgent surgery (delayed reconstruction surgery, for example), the waiting time might be 9 months or longer, but for those who have immediate reconstruction, the wait is much shorter.

I had a mstectomy done by Dr. Wright. She was highly reccomened by my frriend. She is very kind and very good surgeon. The nurse who visits me at home said that she did a great job in terms of making the scars more esthetic. She said that some surgeons leave ugly scars. Also, i has four sentinel nodes removed and i was able to put my hand up immediately ater surgery. If i had to remove the other breast, i would definitely go back to her.
