Estring

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if any of you could provide some information (personal or otherwise) regarding blood estradiol levels while using an estring.

I have been on Femara for three years now and back in January I started experiencing UTI's literally every 3 weeks, and the vaginal dryness and painful sex were driving me crazy. I talked to my onc about this in Feb and she agreed to let me try the estring while monitoring my estradiol level.

Well before the estring my level was 2, since then it has risen to 25 and then down to 21 (will have another one soon). When I met with her last week she seemed fine with the higher numbers. Her comment was "anything under 30 is considered menopausal". Is that what the objective of taking an AI is? To get to a menopausal level?

My tumor was 100% ER/PR positive, so I want to make sure I am not taking a huge risk here. But at the same time quality of life is very important. I can't imagine going back to the UTI's and painful sex.

Any experiences or information would be greatly appreciated!
