Implants and dating

Hi,

I'm just starting to date someone two years after finishing treatment for breast cancer, which involved double mastectomy with implant reconstruction.

I've known the person I'm dating for some time, but the relationship only recently began to turn romantic. He knows that I've had breast cancer (he wasn't around during treatment because we were out of touch at the time). But he doesn't know the particulars--double mastectomy and reconstruction. My implants look great, I think. I'm concerned because they are nowhere near as soft as a regular breast--so, if this relationship continues, there is going to come a moment of reckoning.

May I ask, how have any of you married gals who now have implants gone through the transition from before and after with your husband? Is a really firm breast a real turn-off?

And if you are actually single and have gone through a similar experience, do you have any advice for how to have the "breast" conversation?

Thanks (I'm blushing...)

Janet
