Hello,

My name is Jenny and I want to know some details regarding this product called Zoladex.  What is the difference between the 3.6mg & 10.8mg. Which would be better to take.
My mom is currently diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer..stage 4.. it's been metastasized to her bones.. the cancer is very large and has expanded out on the surface of the right of her breast on and next to the nipple. (size approx. 6/7 inches.)
it is quite disturbing to see and even the doctor says he hasn't seen anything like this.

As of now, we are in South Korea at Asan Medical Center for treatment.
The doctor has recommended us to start the treatment with called Zoladex..instead of kemo.
He suggests that surgery is impossible at this point, and so for now we are going to try this method first.
I was told there are two types of this product. One shot which is for every month (3.6mg) and other is for every three months (10.8mg).  The doc mentioned that the 3.5 mg is already widely used to all breast cancer patients,  however, the 10.8mg is not yet widely known, so he needs people to use it for experiment research.. so far only 3 patients tried this method.

Although, the outcome and the effect is the same, but just the fact that it's an "experiment" sort of holds me back.  Honestly, my mom's condition is pretty critical at this point i don't want to risk anything to worsen and especially if it happns due to the "experient research".

If anyone went through this process or has accurate information please let me know asap..

Thank you for your time and have a great day!

I am sorry for your Mom's diagnosis.

My husband takes Zolodex for prostate cancer.  One shot every 3 months in the abdomin. Leaves an impressive bruise. This medication stops hormone production. There is an extensive list of side effects.  The only noticable SE my husband has is continuous hot flashes.  He also has days of no energy but that is occasional.

In theory the tumour will shrink.  What other procedures is the doctor suggesting - radiation??  Chemo???
