Claire-too funny. I just love cats. Good thing there's no school today! How are you doing by the way. Are you almost done with your fills?
-
One more fill on Monday - I think I'll go up to 600. I'm liking the size, plus on this diet I'm losing about a pound a week, so by April, I should be down to a good size. How many did you fill to Sweetie? You're about my height.
-
Claire-600 sounds good for you. That's great that your doing good on your diet. My brother who is a trainer always says to lose slow and steady, no crash diets. Your gonna look great. I only had a few fills, maybe 3 and stopped at 400 and he exchanged out to 450cc's. I may be having a revision though because of severe rippling and in that case will need to go to 500 or 550.
-
claire- LOL on the cat's. Mine are upset because the snow is high enough that they can't see out the window or door. 24" here. hugs and safe shoveling to all.
-
another snow-day here, no school for the kiddo's. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they continue to play nicely (5 & 7 yr old girls) or it's gonna be a loooong day ;-)
Have a great day!!!
-
Melissa: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!! I got all the hats today. Thank you so much for your generosity and I will be sure to pass them on to someone who needs them when I am done with them!!! You are so sweet!!!
Claire82: That must have been a site to see your kitty in the snow!!! My one cat thinks he wants to go outside until he does and decides he is too cold and bolts back in. My cats are inside cats but that one loves to sneak out!

Karebear:
You are so very welcome. I have been staring at them for a year wondering what to do with them and I am sad that you need them, but happy they have a home. I hope you're doing ok. One of my friends from work starts chemo tomorrow. Stay warm

Hi Everyone,
I hope the New Year finds you all full of hope. Things are finally settling down here for me. I am back to work a few days a week and loving it! I see some new faces here..Hello to all of you
Tomorrow I am going into see Dr. DeLucia. It's been two months since my exchange. So much has happened since then...Two weeks ago my right implant seemed to move..and migrate some towards my underarm. That is the side that he did considerable pocket work on...We shall see what he has to offer on that..
Hey funny thing happened to me today...I started my period. I haven't had it since last march. I never know what to expect next. I have a treatment on Friday we shall see what the Onco has to say about that! I was wondering why the hot flashes stopped a few weeks ago
Emme
-
Hi Emme-good to hear from you and glad your doing well. Let us know what Dr D says. He will probably have to put some internal stitches in there if it has mirgrated to a point where it doesn't look right. When I lay down mine do go quite far apart but look ok in the upright postion. Are you on Tamoxifen? I have been on for six months and my periods have been normal. I was hoping they would stop. It is good your hot flashes stopped though. Keep us posted.
-
Hi Sweetie,
I saw Dr. D. today and he said he could go in a do a revision..but he isn't sure how successful it will be. He can definately make it look better but he isn't sure to what degree. He thinks the muscle is pushing down on the implant. Tomorrow I am going to the gyn..to discuss the cysts on my ovaries and my bulbous shaped uterous...Dr Ringer thinks I need a hysterectomy...we shall see what the gyn thinks..If I do need one Dr.D said he would do the revision at the same time.
Im not on tamoxifen. I am still having herceptin tx every three weeks until april 15th.
I will keep you posted

Emme - nice to see you ! I love the hair!
-
Thanks so much...I colored the hair and I'm happy to have it...it is crazy curly!
-
I got my call from the surgery center today to confirm my appt. for my Friday exchange - It should be around 9 am. I like that time - not too early or too late. I was worried about the snow in the forecast, but she told me that Snow does not stop them - I'm glad hubby will be driving me in the all-wheel-drive car.
Only 2 days left - I feel ready. Just want to finish all my cleaning and get some more food in the house.
-
I can't wait to see your new girl! GL
-
Emme-that pic of you is sooo cute! So how do you feel about a revision? I can have one too but he said the same thing to me he can make it better, but to what degree he can not guarantee. I'm not sure I want to go through that again. If you need a hysterecomy would Dr. D do that too? Wow he does everything.
Heebie-wow the day is finally coming for you. So happy for you. They take great care of you at WH surgical center. Wishing you all the best. I know your going took great!
-
Good Luck Heebie-WH center is wonderful! I went in at 7 and was home by 12:30. The staff was wonderful.
Sweetie- Dr. D. won't do the hysterectomy, but he will go in at the same time as the surgeon who does. That way I don't have to schedule two surgeries.
I cancelled my appointment with the GYN today because of the weather.I rescheduled for next week..Dr. Grund my ONC called me today. I had called in to talk to the infusion room nurses because I started my period Sunday. He was concerned. He doesn't think I should be having it. Actually he is very surprised. Friday I have a treatment and he is going to check hormone levels..but he wants me to be sure and see the GYN to make sure"there is nothing else going on". Can you say cancer? why cant they just say what they are looking for...or what could be going on...instead of saying that. Its not like the thought doesn't cross my mind. I'm not getting all wound up about it yet..because the one thing I do know about all of this cancer treatment is that my body has not responded like any of the drs have anticipated throughout this whole ordeal. Thanks for listening
-
Emme-that sounds good that they can do the two surgeries on the same day. I'm sorry for the problems you are having. Try not to worry and just take one day at the time. It is better that they are able to really monitor things and stay on top of things. Sometimes I get the opposite thought, like are they doing enough and how would they even know if something was going on again. It can all be so overwhelming. You've come so far and your stronger than you know in spite of setbacks. One day at at time, lots of prayers and thoughts, and hugs are sent your way.
-
(((HUGS))) Emme. I hope that whatever is going on that it will be an easy fix or better yet, nothing at all. LOVE the curly hair!! I am actually looking forward to having curly hair!! My hair has always been so straight!!
-
So what is with all of this frackadillen snow??????? I can't believe we're to get another 5 inches tonight. Enough already.
Emme- sometimes simple things like fibroids can cause your "period" to start up.
Kerri- Do you have enough hats? My DD's school group makes supersoft hats for allopecia that they donate to ACS. There's some neat colors. I also have wigs etc. that were never worn. Let me know. Just send me a PM.

another snow day tomorrow for my girls...
...I think they might be in school till July... ;-)
-
shush i'm a teacher
-
oh I know, I taught prior to my girls...I was doing the "anti snow dance" today!
...my husband is a HS administrator and we try to use leftover vacation time from the school yr in the quick timeframe after school is out in June & before it runs out July 1st...geez, it's been crazy lately!
-
More snow. I hate snow!!! Just saying!!!
I am just dropping in quickly as I am having some nauseousness and lots of tiredness from treatment yesterday. 3 down! Good news is my tumor is shrinking and the lymph node the dr could feel she can't feel anymore!!! Chemo is working!!!
-
Wonderful news Karebear! The torture of treatment is worth it!
I love the snow..we had another 6" today...love it!
-
We made it through the snow to the West hartford surgery center friday morning. all seemed to go well, but I don't have any idea what I look like under all these bandages. He said the MX side would not hurt much, but he ended up putting in some internal stitches cause he thought that it was too low (I had thought that when I first got the TE, and mentioned it to him earlier, but he said it was fine then). So now both sides hurt and I am taking the narcotics every 4 hours.
I have my card in front of me - natural side is 120cc round. MX side is model 410 MX, size 370grams gummy. I am a little worried that it will look too small. the TE was filled to 400 and he told me he was planning to put in a 450-490 gram. nothing to do now but wait for the unwrapping on monday morning.
I'll let you know what happens.
-
So glad to hear from you heebie!!
Let us know what they look like on Monday.
-
Heebie-been thinking of you...glad your doing well. Take your pain meds as needed. The side where he did the stitches is likely to be a little more sore. Don't worry about the size, your very petite so it's going to look good on you. The hardest part is being patient. He told me not to take off the surgical bra but I kept peaking and peaking. Get lots of rest.
-
Heebie- you must be so excited! Try and stay ahead of the pain, Take the meds. I was amazed how much more comfortable the implants were than the TE.
I have been trying to figure out what my new normal is...it seems so much has changed. There isn't a single aspect of my life that cancer hasn't effected. I wonder when it will fade into the background, and what will be left?
-
heebie
just wondering
why do u have a different kind of implant in each side?
i wonder if my PS does it also
-
It is itchy under these bandages, but I have not tried to peek, they are so compressed in all these bandages, that I don't think it would tell me anything.
Today is already better then yesterday. I'm still takinging all my pain meds, but I can wait a little longer between doses.
Claire: I have 2 kinds to achieve the best symmetry. I have a teardrop on the MX side to best approximate the look of a natural breast and a round on the natural side to give it a little boost in size and lift and hopefully make it similar to the MX side. They don't make round gummies in the USA, so it has to be a regular silicone. my goal is to be a lilttle bigger then I started with and have both sides as close as possible in apperance.
