Bren, thank you for starting this thread.  It means lots to me.  And thank you to all who took sometime to say some kind words to me, because I really need them right now.  I don't come here much anymore but do have a private site on Caringbridge for anyone who would like to know a little more of what is going on.

Hoping you will join me there.  So much to talk about.

Hey Nikki!  Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you!  There is a great site to check out when you are home that might help put your mind at ease.  It is www.bcbrainmets.org or www.brainmetsbc.org.  Leave it to my chemo brain to not remember the correct order or the words....  You are going to come flying through this like a trooper!  Brain mets is actually a very treatable are of bc mets and you should be home and good as new before you know it!  I'm so sorry you are having such a tough time lately, you will be in my prayers!

I just  saw a note from Nick ... she is back in the hospital.  Hopefully, she can update her Caring Bridge site later.  She is back on IV pain meds.

Lisa ... I read the link to Edge's site.  He's fabulous and has answered many questions for me in the past on nosurrender's website.  I'll make sure Nick sees the note about Edge's page.

    Love to all,

    Bren

I had forgotten chemosabi changed her screen name to palaminorides again. Now that I know this, I do remember her writing about that some time ago. I was wondering where she was as I have always enjoyed her posts.

Nicki - wishing you the best. I am so sorry you are going through this. Add me into Lowriders healing vibes from the upper midwest. I hope you will be pain free and feeling much better in no time.

As of this morning, Nicki was still in the hospital with MRSA infection.

Nicki, sending you big hugs and hope they have you started on the right meds to get rid of the infection.

    Hugs, Madison

Oh f...MRSA.  Both my Dad and my MIL got it while in the hospital.  I think both got IV Vancomysin (drug of choice) and it improved.  So weird though.  The hospital makes you feel like a leper, then sends you home to your residence facility ( in their cases) where there are no BEWARE/ALERT signs and no people walking near you in gowns, masks or gloves!

I hope you get outta there soon Nicki.  And feel better soon. And get some TLC support which you not only richly deserve, but have earned many times over!  Hugs.

Hey, Nicki -- this is otter.

I just wanted you to know that I am thinking about you.  I wish I could be there to cheer you up.  You've needed, and deserved, some cheering-up, considering all the help you've given us over the years, and considering what you've been through.

Anyway, I have nothing useful to offer regarding your latest medical adventure(s).  I rarely curse out loud, but I'm sending appropriate virtual profanity after hearing the news that you are in the hospital with MRSA.  I mean, aren't brain mets, thoracocentesis, and pneumothorax enough???

So, I hope you feel the hugs and good wishes that are coming your way from your "sisters" here on BCO.

Thinking of Nicki today.  She is very sick and will be in the hospital a bit longer.  They will be putting a catheter into the pleura so she can drain the fluid herself.  She continues to be on Vancomycin for the MRSA.

    Sending you love dear friend,

    Bren

Nick you're on my mind again today.  I know you're anxious about the WBR today ... and also managing the chest tube.  I hope the pain from the chest tube subsides and you are able to go home in a few days.  I sure hope they get the MRSA under control as well.

    love you lots,

    Bren

I am sorry.  I am finding this post late.  I hope everything is going well.  I have completed 15 WBR treatments as well as radiostatic therapy I believe it is called.  It isn't the easiest thing but, if you have any questions, need to vent or whatever the case may be feel free to do so.
