I have Stage 1 inflitrating ductal carcinoma.  I have had a segmented mastectomy with 1.7 mm lump removed with a total of 3 cm tissue.  The oncologist said I had:

Stage 1  Her2 positive NEU postitive.

What does this mean?

I am not going to have chemo but will have 5 weeks radiation.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

    Dianna,

Her2+ was always known as an aggressive cancer that liked to travel and spread, herceptin has changed this for us thankfully and there are more and more ladies surviving five years and more thanks to this drug.

Everyone has the her2 gene, but some of us express more of it than other's, so with breastcancer the cells the multiply and grow faster.  You need to check out www.her2support.org for more info on this and if you've decided on no chemo maybe ask your onc if he'll give herceptin without??

Its made a huge difference to many of us, I just reached five years and had three nodes positve and highly triple pos but give due to this drug for helping me get here:)

     Also check out www.herceptin.com
