Ocean, I know it's hard so how you feel is totally understandable.
We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia and I neither cook nor attend big celebrations anyway. I don't have much family.
Have you been cooking much lately or not?
-
Being we are back in lockdown, yes I am cooking. Got a new instapot that I haven't tried though.
We are staying apart for Thanksgiving here. Too much travel that can't happen during lockdown.
Would you rather use video (facetime, skype etc) or just get a plain ol' phone call?
-
I don't like phone calls so I would rather Skype or Zoom. I like emails even better.
Do you feel up to date with technology and your technology skills or not? (eg. using a smart phone and using Zoom)

When it comes to holiday cards - do you prefer to send Christmas cards only, with a holiday letter or no Christmas cards at all?
(I've done all three but am currently at the no cards at all stage of life. Lol)
-
I tend to give loved ones I actually see Christmas cards but I don't send many. I mostly keep up with people by email.
Do you prefer keeping in touch with people by email or phone?
-
I like both.
Do you put your Christmas tree up before or after Thanksgiving?
-
Australians often put up their Christmas tree on December 1. We do it when we get around to it. The big tree won't fit in our current house though so we can put up my little fibre optic tree.
Do you decorate for Christmas in traditional red and green or not?
-
Hi Aussie!
My date to put up my tree has always been December 1st or after. Although the year of my diagnosis we did put it up earlier due to my surgery. We may break with tradition and put it up a few days early this year as well. My girls are wanting to put it up this weekend.
Yes, I do decorate in red and green. I have a huge Christmas tree covered in sentimental ornaments. My hubby has been trying to get me to scale it back for years. But I just can't part with even one of my ornaments.
Do you have a sentimental, random ornament Christmas tree or a themed Christmas tree? Or several themed Christmas trees throughout your house?
-
Hi Ocean!!
My housemate has a 6 foot Christmas tree with red, green, silver and gold ornaments and some of them have sentimental value. It's too big to put his up in our current house so we'll put up my colourful fibre optic tree.
The next person is looking forward to Christmas.
-
Yes, I am. I was driving to work this morning looking at all of the downtown shops. I was thinking how beautiful they looked with their lights on with the decorations up. It's such a beautiful, magical time of year. Then I hit the hustle and bustle of the shopping district. Lol
Do you prefer to shop at small, local shops or at big box stores?
-
I like the range of products at big department stores but I like to support small stores at times when they have things I want.
Do you find this time of year especially busy or not?
