I prefer my hair to be medium length.
Have you dyed your hair or not?
-
I have hi-lighted my hair with blonde hi-lights. I tried to hi-light with red & blonde one time. The red washed out and I was left with just the blonde. But it was beautiful!! I loved it!!
Do you prefer blonde, brunette, or red hair? (If I could I would dye my hair red. But it just won't take it.)
-
I quite liked having dark brown hair before it went grey but I think it depends on the person what hair colour is the nicest.
Has your hair started to go grey or not?
-
Mine has started to slowly turn just at the temples. I was afraid when it came back in it would be all grey but thankfully I have just as much grey as I did before I lost it. But I could cover it better when it was long!! Lol
Do you like to pull your hair back or do you prefer to wear it down? (I miss wearing a pony tail. But I'll get there.)
-
I wear my hair down most of the time.
Did you ever wear your hair in a bun or not?
-
No, I never liked how my hair looked in a bun.
Do you wear your hair in a braid or a French braid?
-
I haven't braided (plaited) my hair since the 1990s and I've never French braided my hair because I don't know how.
Do you go to the hairdresser often or not?
-
No. My stylist used to laugh at me because when my hair was long I only saw her once a year, She said I didn't make her very much money! Lol But she was so sweet when I asked her to cut it short for me after my diagnosis. That was just 2 months after she gave me the best perm I ever had. It was beautiful!! I hated to cut it off!!
I used to French braid my own hair but I couldn't French braid my daughters'. I could only do it behind my head!! Isn't that crazy?! Lol
Do you cut/dye your own hair or only have the hairdresser do it?
-
Ocean, it is funny that you could only French braid your own hair!!
I don't dye my hair and I have been cutting my own hair since 1985.
Were you happy with how curly or straight your hair was when you were young?
-
My hair has always been very straight. When I was young it didn't bother me. I rather liked it that way in school. But in my adult years I've liked it with curls.
Aussie, I'm impressed that you've been cutting your own hair since 1985. Every time I tried to cut my own bangs they ended up a crooked mess!! So I finally just grew them out. That's the plan this time around, too!!
Do you wash your hair daily or less often?
-
Thanks, Ocean. It's much easier to cut wavy hair like mine than straight hair.
Less often.
Do you use conditioner or not?
-
Yes, I have to especially in the winter. I have to wash my hair every day, too. It gets very greasy looking in just one day.
Do you use styling gel, mousse or nothing at all?
-
I don't use any extra hair products.
Do you pluck your eyebrows or not?
-
Lol No, mine have always been barely noticeable. And since chemo that has gotten worse. They've always been very blonde and very thin. But I don't pencil them in either. They just hide behind my glasses.
Do you pencil in your eyebrows or let them go natural?
-
I still have dark eyebrows so I don't need to pencil them in.
Do you like your eye colour or not?
-
My eyes are green. All my brothers have baby blue eyes. I always wished I had blue eyes like them. But I have my Mom's eyes. So I love them. They are VERY green, almost electric green when I cry.
Do you like your hair color or wish it was different?
-
Green eyes sound nice.
I don't mind having grey hair too much. My mum thinks I look blonde like this but I still think of myself as having dark brown hair.
Do you have a lot of eyelashes or not?
-
No, sadly I lost mine during chemo and they haven't come back very much since. I never really had much before though.
Do you use mascara and eyeliner or just go natural?
-
I like to use eyeliner (especially green) once or twice a week but I use mascara more like once a year.
Do you look forward to wearing certain clothes, especially nice colours or styles?
-
I used to. But anymore I dread it. I'm not liking the recent changes in my body.
Do you like to get dressed up or would you rather stay casual?
-
Ocean, I'm sorry you're dreading wearing certain clothes.
I like to get a bit dressed up, but not too much or too often.
Is your birthday soon or not?
-
Not for a couple of months yet. In April.
Do you have plans for Valentine's Day or nothing planned?
-
No, I don't have any plans for plans for Valentine's Day.
Do you like to make plans in advance or just see what happens?
-
I do like to make plans in advance. But I also like to do things on the spur of the moment.
Do you like to try new restaurants or eat only at your favorite restaurants?
-
I like to try new restaurants sometimes but my house mate doesn't like most foods.
Do you like a wide range of foods or not?
-
I do. Mostly. Lol
Do you like sushi or have you never tried it? (I have never tried it but it does not appeal to me.)
-
I love sushi, especially with raw salmon, avocado and brown rice.
Do you like seafood or not?
-
Some...but not all. I'm pretty picky about seafood.
Given your choice - would you have steak, chicken, pork or seafood?
-
Probably chicken.
Do you tend to order entrees or desserts in restaurants or not?
-
I would pick chicken, too!! My husband asks me at restaurants "What form of chicken are you having tonight?"! Lol
We sometimes order appetizers, always an entree but rarely have room for dessert.
Will you order a salad as a meal or do you prefer to order an entree?
