I am 30 years old, married with 8 embryos in the 'freezer'.  All I want to know is if I am going tobe an old lady to enjoy my kids and grandkids.  I was not ready to hear stage 3, I thought stage 2 would be the final report.  I don't know if it is a b or c (we meet with the BC tomorrow) and as far as I am concerned I am cancer free now that I've had my bilateral surgeries... but I am fearful of reoccurance.  I am having 6 rounds of chemo and 6 sessions of radiation.

I need some reassurance from those of you who are like me.  I'm scared.

Thats the worst fear reoccurance,we all go through that. You most likely be getting a year of herceptin, since you are HER+.I found for myself the chemo is doable. There are so many meds for nausea. As for herceptin(miracle drug) I have no side effect at all. There is a lot of support here, and answers to a lot of questions.Best wishes

    ebarb,

Sorry that you have had to join this group but there are many wonderful ladies here and many who have hit their 5 year mark. Check out the thread "Any girls here Stage 3 (HER2 Only) with Nodes in the Stage 3 forum-You will see many women "like you" who are doing well.

I see that you are HER2+ -I am thinking that you will be getting Herceptin too -has your Onc discussed this with you? It usually is given at the start of Taxol or other chemo and given every 3 weeks for 1 year. Just wondering how the number #6 (rads) sessions were given? I have seen anywhere between 25-33 rads for Stage 3'rs with larger tumors. Was this a typeo?

Just try and take "one day at a time". It's hard I know... Don't forget to check out the thread-You will be inspired and encouraged!

    (((Hugs)))

Edit: to add the thread that imentioned is on page #2 on this forum-Like you and too needed encouragement!

I'm sorry you had to find your way here, but the women here are wonderful. Like the others have said, you can't predict the future, but you can fight this disease with everything you've got.  There are so many women on these boards and that I've run into at various events that are years and years into remission/NED.  This is a scary time - I'm sure you feel like your head is spinning.  Take it one step at a time and try not to think about the "what ifs", think about now, one day at a time.  We're here for you......(((HUGS))).
