Dizzy/Vertigo from TCH

A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with bc/ Her2+. She has just finished four of four treatments of TCH. Hope I have that correct... Anyway she is suffering from SE that I didn't have on the A/C -Taxol regime I did last year. She is having a lot of dizzyness and vertigo. It may be in part to some dehydration, but she is unable to drink too much water. Does anyone have a suggestion for other fluids, sports drinks, etc. that you were able to tolerate during your treatments? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for ways to combat the dizziness itself. I suffer from motion sickness and know that once I get it and it "gets ahold of me", it is hard to stop. Wondering if this is the same way. Appreciate your help. She is miserable.

Hi, Cydz ~ I've been dizzy since I started Herceptin.  It got so bad once that my onc ordered a brain MRI.  I've tried prescription meds for vertigo, but I've found that Xanax helps me more than anything.

    Good luck! Smile

EDIT:  Just to clarify:  I didn't have Herceptin until after chemo, and I was never dizzy on chemo.  The dizziness definitely came with the Herceptin.

try having her suck on ginger candy and then after that drink some water.  seems to let you drink more that way. dehydration can definitely trigger the dizziness when the inner ear gets too sludgy and the crystals are in the wrong place. I hope thins work out for her.
