Did anyone have lift and reduction on remaining breast?

Options

I had unilateral mastectomy in September 2008,followed by chemo and herceptin.Due to a number of things,I never got really physical until a few months ago. That is when the pain and discomfort started,if I don't wear a bra I am miserable(I am a C/D)When I do wear a bra I have to wear a prothesis or my underarm is sore..when I do wear a prothesis I cannot stand it touching my chest.A friend suggested I look into reconstruction and I met with a plastic surgeon. He suggested I try having my breast lifted and reduced and thought I then might be able to wear a prothesis.Has anyone had this done? Did it help? I really respected that he offered this alternative and did not try to sell me on reconstruction..though after talking to him,I am seeing it as more of an option for me.I am also going to see a physical therapist who specializes in women with mastectomy or reconstruction issues, but she is so far from me,I will not be able to make regular visits. Thanks!

    Hi!

I had a reduction/lift at the time of my mastectomy. Ab out 6 yrs prior to bc, I went from a HHH to a DD. After the mast went down to a B. I hate the prosthetic so I don't wear one. It's absolutely one of the best surgeries ever! No back/shouler pain and I don't need to wear a bra anymore!
