New Pain under ribs

I wondered if anyone has been diagnosed with something other than mets when they had pain under the lowest rib. It's not actually the rib...what happens is that when I reach up to grab something above my head while in a sitting position...it feels like a cramp in my side or like ohh I hate to say this but a tumor or organ is getting stuck between the ribs and getting twisted. It takes my breath away and makes me cry with pain. It dissipates in about a minute. I feel a pulling sensation as I'm reaching and when I sit back down in a resting position that's when the pain comes. I am so scared I wanted to throw up at work. It happens once or twice everyday at work. I feel a pressure when I lean back in a chair. I have an appt for herceptin next week and see the surgeon the 27th. I just want to cry.My cancer was on the same side as the pain. It's in the back not the front. Thanks if anyone answers.

i know any new pain is so scarey. bring this to your docs attention. it also kinda sounds like a pulled muscle?  main thing is to follow through and not to panic until you actually know something....hang in there.

This happens to me too exactly "like a cramp...organ getting stuck between ribs...getting twisted". It happens once in a while but been happening to me for a long time, before I was diagnosed with anything.  I had broken ribs a long time ago that healed by themselves, maybe this is what is causing my pain.  But like Diana50 said, it could be a pulled muscIe. I would definitely consult with your doctor, maybe you already did.  Did you have radiation in that area?  I hope my answer is not something "too little too late".

Carcharm,  I have the same pain you describe in my ribs, it is like a muscle cramp it lasts only a few seconds then its over.  I thought its from Rads.  Hope you feel better.

Carcharm:  I have exactly the same pain as you describe. When I reach for something up high on really have to stretch or sometimes when I put my hands over my head, it happens.   Have you determined what it is?
