does anyone have someone with mets to brain,liver and bones?

my 81yr old mum has got mets to her bones (almost everywhere), and liver and now the brain. Palliative care only and she is rapidly going downhill, they have now got her on a syringe driver and she is in bed all the time(in hospital now) yet the dr says she maybe able to go home soon?? I thought once it is in the brain and a syringe driver goes in they must think the end if fairly close, does anyone else know what we should expect?
