Breast surgeon just called to tell me that my "spiculated" highly suspicious breast lesion (as seen on MRI in May2010)   is benign!!!!      The interventional radiologist who would have done the MRI bx collaborated with several other radiologists as well as my bs.  the consensus was that this is NOT a malignant lesion.        REcomend f/u in 6 months (MRI) I will have had my pbm by then.     

Most (80%) "spiculated" lesions are malignant; so the odds were that I had a new cancer.  But I fell into the 20% lucky group this time.
