Yup, felt it north of Montreal. Was working in the basement and quickly went upstairs. Figured I wasn't going to be cured of cancer and killed by an earthquake in my basement!!
Prettty amazing.
-
Didn't feel anything here on the south shore of Lake Ontario -- but some from as far away as Chicago say they did. The epicentre seems to be northeast of Ottawa -- 5.5 on the Richter scale.
-
It was felt in South Western Ontario also.... my kids were a little freaked out!
-
I felt it and it scared my dog!
-
My desk and chair were shaking. At first I thought one of my dogs was thumping his tail and making the room shake. Then I looked and realized I was alone in the room. My husband was in dowtown Toronto and he felt it. He was on a conference call to Montreal and they too felt it. The news said there were no injuries so that's a blessing. DH is in the red zone for the G20 Summit so as of tomorrow he has to work from home. Seems like an appropriate way to welcome the delegates . . . perhaps they added a fake earthquake to the fake lake?? . . . For 1.2 billion dollars, I think it is possible to have a fake earthquake. Wouldn't put it past the politicians!
-
I'm in Toronto and felt it. The room was swaying back and forth and everything was shaking. My son works in the downtown core financial area and they thought at first it might have been a bomb (G20 etc) Many buildings were evacuated. Scary stuff
-
My husband is in TO financial core too - thought the RCMP had brought in tanks for the G20! I'm sure that'll be next.
-
Read it in the paper that Scranton, PA felt it. I'm north of Scranton and didn't feel a thing.
-
supposedly 5.0 earthquake 35 miles from Ottawa..
-
Yep, felt it in Woodbridge, just north of Toronto. They evacuated my DD's building in downtown Toronto.
-
It was felt in downtown Buffalo!
-
Well, I felt it! Just sitting on my couch and then rock and roll! Power went out for a while but was restored in under an hour, a bit longer for my cell to work again. My guy in Boston felt it too.

I have this site bookmarked

Here's some info from the USGS website about the quake:

Mantra - I'm laughing at your comment about a "fake earthquake" to go with the "fake lake"...that's so funny!
Sherri
-
I didn't feel anything, thought my wife is joking. But hey, there was also a tornado today, in Midland. Everything to disrupt the G20 summit!
-
ahhh...Mantra you made my day. that was a good laugh. i wish i'd seen this post yest. my parents are close to Barrie and they felt it too. exciting, eh?! lol
-
Actually, I'm going ice skating on Fake Lake!! Truth be known, I don't have a clue how to skate but I figured I could just fake skate on fake lake.
-
Sure did feel it here in Ottawa....sent us running for the great outdoors...I wonder if there was a fake tsunami warning on the fake lake...
-
LOL Mantra and Micheleboots!!
