Exchange Delayed Due To PS's Vacation

My mother had her TE inserted mid-April. At her last meeting with her PS ( mid-June ) he told her that she was ready for the TE / implant exchange. HOWEVER, due to PS / hospital scheduling limitations AND his 5-week vacation she mostly likely won't have the exchange until Sept. Is this type of delay typical and acceptable ? Needless to say, the TE is uncomfortable for her and waiting until Sept. to remove it doesn't please her.

Thanks for any feedback.

well, obviously that stinks however, its my understanding that the new medical residents all start in July so maybe that is part of the hospital scheduling issues--new staff and all.  I don't think I'd mind waiting for anything while I waited for the new help to get familiar with things.

Just FYI, every PS has a different  take on the length of time the TE's are in.  Due to previous radiation my PS wanted extra stretching time, I had my TE's in for 9 months.  It felt like a long time, but I had really positive results, maybe it was the extra time?  I'd think you want to stay with the same PS till the end, so if that is all he can offer...it may be worth it in the end.  Good luck to your Mom.
