Kombucha Tea

Options

Is any one drinking Kombucha Tea, I have just read that it helps increase Breast Cancer survival rate. I bought a few bottles, it tastes like vinegar...but if it helps. Has any one else added this alternative treatment to there medical treatment and had success?

Europeans love this stuff.  I have a friend who makes her own, has been drinking it for years.  Yet, she struggles with high blood pressure and cholesterol regardless.  I have also heard that too much of it can actually cause the opposite anti-oxidant effect you hope for.  Proceed with a bit of caution, and read up on it a bit more...

I love it and drink way too much of it (I actually LOVE that vinegary taste!), but I never looked into whether it really helps with breast cancer or not. It does have some good natural B vitamins which is certainly beneficial.

Most anti-cancer diets I have seen stress drinking green tea, I don't know anything about kombucha tea.  I digress, but just wondering Julia how much iodine should I be taking to reduce risk of recurrence?  I have seen some sites on iodine and bc, but there is conflicting info on dosage.   Thanks.

I heard it was good, though I cannot seem to get past the taste of it! It tastes like water with a dash of apple cider vinegar!

LOL - Marianna, it's funny you said that, because when I'm out of kombucha, one way I get my "fix" is by drinking some water with ACV in it. It's definitely an acquired taste (or maybe I just have weird taste buds)!

Bichon (one of my faves next to Standard Poodles, btw!), I did three months of taking 50mg of Iodoral and am now on a maintenance dose of 12.5mg daily.

I get it at Whole Foods. I like the green one. The vinegar taste is a little strong so I either mix it one part Perrier/one part Kombucha or sometimes add a tiny bit of Coke Zero, as well. I love the fizz. It is a good almost zero-calorie alternative for me, as I honestly am trying to wean myself from regular Coke.

The one I use has algea in it. I would guess that would up the iodine intake possibly?
