One Breast Larger than the Other

Options

Hello

I need some help.  I finished chemo in Dec.  Rads in March.  The breast that was affected (lupectomy) is larger than my other one.  Could this be from the rads? Has anyone every had this and did it go away?  Should I worry about it.

Thanks

Chris

    Chris,

It's from the rads. I had the same and my radiated breast was about twice the size of my unaffected breast. My rads oncologist said it was from an increase in hormones and my oncologist said it was lymphedema and instructed me to massage my breast in a counter clockwise motion. I finished rads last september and the rads breast remained signficantly swollen for about 6 months and then it gradually started to go back to normal. I'm nine months out and they are back to being the same size.

    best,
    j
