I had an accupuncture treatment ( a gift from friends) yesterday -- the lady is seems very knowledgeable about cancer and diet/supplements -- she was an RN for 20 yrs.  She mentioned to me the importance of the Ph level of the body and the connection maybe w/cancer. Has anyone else looked at this?  Thanks -- Karenanne

Yes l have researched it. Maintaining our PH levels is incredibly important.

At a pH slightly above 7.4 cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 cancer cells will die while healthy cells will live...and also cancer cells cannot survive in the presence of high levels of oxygen.

To understand why some tissues in the body are deficient in oxygen and therefore prone to cancer, it is helpful to understand the nature of acidity and alkalinity. Cancerous tissues are acidic, whereas healthy tissues are alkaline. Water (H2O) decomposes into H+ and OH-. When a solution contains more H+ than OH- then it is said to be acid. When it contains more OH- than H+ then it is said to be alkaline.

When oxygen enters an acid solution it can combine with H+ ions to form water. Oxygen helps to neutralize the acid, while at the same time the acid prevents oxygen from reaching the tissues that need it. Acidic tissues are devoid of free oxygen.

An alkaline solution is just the reverse. Two hydroxyl ions (OH-) can combine to produce one water molecule and one oxygen atom. In other words, an alkaline solution can provide oxygen to the tissues.

The pH scale goes from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Below 7 is acid and above 7 is alkaline. The blood, lymph and cerebral spinal fluid in the human body are designed to be slightly alkaline at a pH of 7

...The quantity of cesium taken up was sufficient to raise the cell to the 8 pH range. Where cell mitosis ceases and the life of the cell is short.

...Tests have been carried out on over 30 humans. In each case the tumor masses disappeared.

A lot of great info here...

    Saliva pH Test

Wait at least 2 hours after eating. Fill your mouth with saliva and then swallow it. Do this again to help ensure that the saliva is clean. Then the third time, put some saliva onto pH paper.

The pH paper should turn blue. This indicates that your saliva is slightly alkaline at a healthy pH of 7.4. If it is not blue, compare the color with the chart that comes with the pH paper. If your saliva is acid (below pH of 7.0) wait two hours and repeat the test.

Thanks for this!  Is there a single supplement that helps?  I already am on Calcium and D-3.

Where do you get your ph strips?  Walgreens here doesn't carry them.  I'll check a health food store today.  The acupuncturist didn't differentiate between saliva strips and urine -- but the article says saliva is what you want.

I am working on getting my ph up where it needs to be.  I work at a health food store and we have a product called Buffer P.H. It is homopathic so wont interfer with any meds or whatever.  I have been on it  weeks and mine is going up.  It was only 5.0 and this week got to 7.0.  I want it at 8.0 because i am doing chemo and at 8.0 the cancer will start to die.  Also the chemo lowers it, so its hard to maintain it.

You can also always put lemon or lime in your water, that helps alot...thats actually what really brought mine up.

Hello kmf - am interested in this too - check out Dr Robert O Young's website - I don't think that his material is evidence based but still worthwhile looking at - also have a look at phkillscancer.com.  I emailed this man, Vernon, and he emailed back and assured me that the treatment he mentioned worked and has worked for one other man.  There is a lot of info on the web about ph and cancer but I don't think it has been scientifically researched.  Essence of Life website also has info but they advertise products too.
