It is my understanding that a recent study showed that drinking 2-3 servings of alcohol a week increased the likelihood of recurrance.  Any further information or links about this subject would greatly be appreciated.

I've heard mixed reviews on alcohol.  Some say none, others say a drink or two.  I'd say moderation one or two drinks here and there shouldn't hurt, but why chance it with more.

    Hi Chinablue,

These comments might also be helpful.  When I heard them, I decided that I would go back to drinking wine.  Having said this, I do drink somewhat less than prior to diagnosis.  Michelle Holmes is one of the most noted epidemiologists in the country.  She works at Harvard, and has worked for years with the Nurses' Health Study.  Here are her comments.

I have stopped having any alcohol at all these days.  I used to enjoy an occasional glass of wine, but now I feel like (and I realize it may not be entirely rational) even an occasional glass of wine will increase my chance recurrence.  I think it just may not be worth it.  I have a great heart and am quite fit, so I would not reap the heart benefits.  Hmm....
