Qigong

Options

FYI

I am 6 mos post an initial dx of stage IV breast cancer.  Doing Qigong daily for sense of well being, immune boost, and vitality. Qigong is energy cultivation  - a part of Chinese medicine.

For anyone interested, here is one of many easy qigong mediation techniques. It is called 'skin breathing'.  Sit in a comfortable upright position (on a chair or lotus position, if that is comfortable), in a quiet pleasant environment. Play calming music of your choice. Breathe in and out slowly about 2/3rd of a full breath. Find your internal rhythm through your breathing pacing. Imagine that all of your pores can communicate and breathe energy in and out with your respirations. The energy flow is like opening all the windows and doors of your house to let a cleansing sweet spring breeze clear the air in your house. Find your calm place. Go there whenever you need a break or to rejuvinate. Hope some of my sisters find this little technique helpful.

Thanks for sending. Will have to try this. I want to start taking some Chi Gong courses, as I hear it's wonderful for people facing illness.

Thanks for sharing this! I have a "Qi gong for breast health" DVD that my thermography clinic gave to me, and I'm ashamed to say I haven't tried it yet, even knowing how beneficial it is. Need to pop it into the player and give it a try.

    Crunchy -

I bought that DVD and use it regularly!  It's worth trying out! I was inspired to buy the DVD after reading Dr. Lu's book - Tradditional Chinese Medicine A Woman's Guide to Healing  Breast Cancer. The book really resonated with me.
