Will my new hair stay???
Hi Everyone,
I had my last chemo a week before Christmas 2009 and I've since then had radiotherapy, I am now on the 5 year Tamoxifen treatment. My hair started growing back now and its a few centimeters long (yes its pathetic but I count ever millimeters) and it's soft and wavy. I don't have to do nothing to it but ass a little wet look gel and it's great. Unfortunately, I am not sure how long that would last. My hair pre cancer was tough and picky. I relaxed it but when the re-growths start, it kills. So you can understand why I love the new hair. Just want to know if the new hair will stay or if it will return to the way it was.

Hi Fullips, sorry no one has responded yet and I did not have chemo so I did not lose hair. Hopefully someone will come along as I bump this up to answer. During the day the boards are less used so maybe this evening you'll get some info.
And, it's not pathetic, as we learn to appreciate all the small things as we go through this journey so don't be afraid to ask any and all questions.
Blessings.

Hello Fullips 7. You should retain the softness and long as you take care of it. I because a natural hair junkie after my hair grew back. I did not fully appreciate my baby fine locs. I was so use to my long str8 natural hair. Two years later I am enjoying my natural hair. Please let me know if you have any more questions especially since i consider myself a natural hair care product queen!

Hey Rogam,
Thank you so much for replying. I thought I'd never hear from anyone.
Well my hair is much longer now and its still quiet soft. but its gotten into that stage that its too long for me to gel it back (wet look gel or any other is no longer working) but too long for me to leave it out as it looks rather unrully. I want to start putting it into braids or at least a weave. Ive been wearing baseball caps for months now. I had a masectomy and i am currently having my expander expanded so right now, ive still have and i have had for th last year, a chest and a breast. i look like a boy and ive put on some weight. i know i sound dramatic but i need to look like a woman again.
Please, when is the minimal waiting time before I start braiding my hair. Chemo finished in December 09 and I finished radiotherapy in March 10. I just want to make sure I wait long enough so my hair wont fall out again.
I look forward to hearing from you.
