Where to find massage therapist/lymphatic drainage therapist

Options

I don't know if this has been covered here in the past, but I wanted to let everyone know where to go to find qualified massage therapists/lymphatic drainage therapists.

One site, www.massagetherapy.com, has a therapist locator search on the first page. Just type in your zipcode and pick which modality (type of massage) you are looking for, i.e. oncology massage or lymph drainage from the drop-down list. A short list of qualified, licensed therapists in your area will pop up. Most of these people are in private practice, meaning they will come to your home or they have a studio you can go to. You can be sure they know what they are doing, since you won't be picking blindly from the phone book or getting a too-general massage at a day spa.

Another choice is www.s4om.org. This is the Society for Oncology Massage. They also have a therapist locator area for people looking for therapists certified in cancer massage. (The large majority of therapists who are certified in cancer massage also have training in lymphatic drainage).

Hope this helps!

You can be sure they know what they are doing, since they are members of the largest national organization (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals).
