I was recently diagnosed with a 2.5 cm, stage IIA, grade I mucinous (colloid) carcinoma which is ER + and HR -.  I had a lumpectomy a couple weeks ago and the sentinel node biopsy showed the lymph nodes were clear.  Anyone have a similar diagnosis?  Thank you!

Me. And a few others. Welcome Jennifer. Sorry you have had to join is here but I hope all is going well with your recovery. Your lump is low grade and nodes not affected so you're in the best group of breast cancers statistically. The clear nodes makes the biggest difference to that. There aren't that many of us around, so it's not easy to get specific information, and you may find doctors just applying their standard protocols, so it's worth questioning "In My Case" is this really necessary? Having said that, I saw you also posted in younger women and I'm twenty years older than you so your treatment might need to be more aggressive. Good luck!

I had IDC with mucinous colloid characteristics ~ Mine was large and they also saw something on my other breast when I had an mri prior to surgery.  I had a double mastectomy and 16 weeks of chemo.  Am on the mend now taking tamoxifen. I wish you well on your journey.

Hi, I'm also new here. I had this type of breast cancer last year. I went through 2 lumpectomies and 3 weeks (16 zaps) of radiation.
