I tried posting this before, but don't see it so here goes again.  Can anyone suggest ways to give comfort to my daughter who was just diagnosed mets to the brain?  She was diagnosed 6/09 and has come through chemo and Herceptin w/flying colors and now this!

I am new to this site and I don't think I am experienced enough to give advice. My sister (30 years old) was diagnosed 3 months ago with Stage IV breast cancer that spread to lymph nodes, chest, spine and bone. She is currently taking tamoxifin and herceptin. The last scan was good. I think it would be very scary to hear "brain mets." I would just try and stay positive, enjoy every moment with her and remind her that any day now they are going to come up with some thing that will beat this awful disease. I always remind myself that Herceptin was approved just 6 short years ago, so something new has got to come along soon. I am sorry you have to watch your daughter go through this. I don't know how my mother is doing it and I can't imagine what it must be like for you. I am sorry.
