edited June 2014 in Stage III Breast Cancer

Hi ladies

I wonder if any of you are able to answer my question. I was diagnosed in June 2007 and had chemotherapy first followed by mastectomy in November 2007, rads and a year and a half of Herceptin - all treatment finished in November 2008.

At what stage do I start counting my No Evidence of Disease from? All I know is I'm coming up for 3 years since diagnosis middle of June.

Thanks

i say...whenever you want**  i always just count my anniversary from the day i was diagnosed.  or you could use the day you completed treatment.  three years is great....enjoy ****

    Hi Rebz,

Most use the day of diagnosis for their anniversary.  That's what I use...but then quietly in my head I also use the end of treatment date.  LOL

I used my surgery date because that is when I was NED.

I think in my head I'd like to use the date of diagnosis or at least start of treatment which was July 2007 but remember hearing a medical professional say it's from the date of the operation (Nov 2007) - which sort of makes sense as that's when whatever was left was removed and I consider that at that stage I was cancer free. Slightly differing opinions but all make sense.

     Thank u

I always wondered to and so I asked my onchologist on my last visit.  I had a double mastectomy, chemo then rads,.  She told me she goes by the end of chemo as thats when all the cancer is hopefully gone...
