edited June 2014 in High Risk for Breast Cancer

Hi all, ive got a strong family history of breast cancer.  It goes back 5 generations.  Im currently waiting on biospy results which i will get on Tuesday and if its cancer which they suggest its going o be I will be the 6th generation. Im 34, is anyone esle going through anything similar.

    Hi Vicki,

    I am hoping you have a negative result.  The waiting is very hard.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.  My family never had any history till my mom got breast cancer at 80 so it came as a bit of a shock to have the dr. tell me there was a problem.  I am hopefull it was caught early if it is cancer.

    I'm hoping that you get good news tomorrow.

    Unfortunately they are women on the boards at your age who have been dx'ed with cancer.  Often times it is related to family history.  With your history in the US or Canada you would qualify for high risk screening and BRCA testing.  Has your doc talked to you about either of these?
