I need an advice

My mon had a chest Xray and the paper says: there is probably a small lung nodule in the right lung and must have another tests. I'm freaking and I can't wait till Monday to call the onc. What is nodule? Is something bad? I will appreciate for any advice.

Hi Hon, I can imagine what you are going through. A nodule is a small 'thing' that can be found in different areas.  If it's any comfort to you, after I had breast cancer surgery, they found a  nodule in my chest xray.  It turned out to be nothing.  Thank God.   Try and relax.  It is a very hard thing to do, especially when waiting is involved.

Most of these nodules have been on lungs for long time, they just need to do follow-up scan in about 3 months to see if there has been a change....These things (nodules) pop up on my scans, but once they are followed so far these are either scar tissue or caused by having childhood illness and not cancer....Once the follow-up scan is done you will know....but these are very common.....hope this helps....

I finally called the onc. this evening - can't wait till Monday. He said to check to the previous CT scan (12/2009) had made on chest area, to find out is this "spot" was there.  Thanks God this "spot" is an old thing, it isn't something new. Maybe it is something that my mom had it before diagnosis. Thanks GOD!!!
