Hello, everyone.

I am not sure which sub-forum I should post my topic. Anyway, I was wondering whether there is someone who is in the same shoes as me.

I am a chemist and I work in the lab and contact with Methanol, Acetone, Acetonitrile, and all kind of organic/inorganic solvents/reagents/drug substances. After surgery, chemo and radiation, I was asking for staying away from the lab and my boss said OK when I first asked her. Then a week later, she said no. She said no less I can bring a doctor's note saying that I am unable to work in the lab due to health reason, I have to be in the lab. Yep! I do not think I can get that doctor's notice. And who knows what will happen if I refuse to go back work in the lab. I may be fired. Everyone is replaceable at any company, right?

Well, I am not sure whether any of you might face similar situation as me? Do you keep working in the lab after BC? Have you changed/downgrade your job internally or find another company? I do not mind working in the lab occasionally. But over year, every day, I have to think about the consequences of that putting my health in "danger". But the problem is that it is not easy to start over in another profession or change to a new job now a days.

Anyway, just some complains... Any idea or thoughts are welcome.... I really need some advice here...

P.S. I usually just lurk around and do not post. But in the past 8 months or so, this forum is my best friend when I was going through treatment. I had very bad side effect on chemo. Gosh, that was a tough battle!

I wish everyone who is reading this post the best of luck fighting against BC!
